Flights are usually the biggest cost of an Oceania trip. Compare fares across airlines and dates, and consider a stopover in Asia, the Middle East or Hawaii to break up the journey.

Tips for cheaper fares
- Fly in the shoulder seasons (March–May, September–November).
- Use open-jaw tickets: into Sydney, out of Auckland, for example.
- Look at stopovers in Singapore, Bali, Doha, Dubai or Honolulu.
- Pacific island routes have few weekly flights, so fix those dates first.
